At a glance
- What it bonds
- TPO and EPDM membranes, including fleece-backed
- Type
- TPO/EPDM Adhesive
- Coverage
- Up to 10 squares bonded area (22 L)
- Time
- Allow 2–4 minutes, or until dry to touch, depending on temperature and humidity
- Equipment
- Spray gun with UniJet 11002B adjustable spray tip — included
Use it when
- 01You are bonding a TPO membrane
- 02You are bonding an EPDM membrane
- 03You are bonding a fleece-backed membrane
Substrates listed in the data sheet
- TPO and EPDM membranes bonded to traditional roofing substrates
- Self-adhering membranes — formulated for use as a primer on the opposite substrate
- Fleece-back membranes
Always confirm the current TDS and the roof-system requirements for the substrate you are bonding to.
How to apply
- 01Confirm the current TDS and SDS and the roof-system requirements for the membrane you are installing.
- 02Set up the spray gun with the UniJet 11002B spray tip, adjustable from a 7- to 17-inch spray pattern. The spray tip is included.
- 03Apply adhesive to both surfaces to be mated, at 80% to 100% coverage. If used as a self-adhering membrane primer, apply adhesive to the opposite substrate.
- 04Allow enough time (2–4 minutes or until dry to the touch) for the adhesive to become tacky before bonding.
- 05Mate the parts with as much pressure as practical.
- 06Normal coverage with a web spray pattern is approximately 80%; porous surfaces may need a second coat. The initial bond allows cutting or trimming immediately; ultimate strength is achieved in 1–3 days.
Equipment and part numbers
Comes in one size only: the 22 L disposable canister.
| Tool | Part number | Listed in |
|---|---|---|
| Toolkit | QDTK-12 (M125 wand gun, M180-12 hose, wrench) | Current QDEK membrane adhesive toolkit page |
| Spray gun | M125 (18-inch wand gun, field area) | Current toolkit page and catalog |
| Spray gun | M120 standard gun (detail / small area) | Current catalog |
| Hose | M180-12 (12 ft) | Current toolkit page and catalog |
| Hose (TDS reference) | M130-12 (12 ft), M130-18 (18 ft) | Current QD2040 TDS |
| Spray tip | UniJet® 11002B (7–17-inch adjustable spray) — included | Current QD2040 TDS and catalog |
Each part above is labelled with the document it is listed in: the QD2040 TDS lists the M130 hose range, and the toolkit page lists the M125 gun with an M180-12 hose. Parts from different lists are not automatically interchangeable — confirm the gun, hose and tip for your application with your regional rep before ordering.

On the roof
- The canister system sprays adequately above 60°F; surrounding temperature should be 25°F and rising.
- Keep the canister in a warm area. Warming a chilled canister in warm water is recommended before continued use.
- Normal coverage with a web spray pattern is approximately 80%; porous surfaces may need a second coat.
- Mate parts with as much pressure as practical. The initial bond allows cutting or trimming immediately; ultimate strength develops in 1–3 days.
Storage and canister change-over
- Always store above 60°F (15°C) and never over 120°F (50°C).
- Avoid direct sunlight and do not store directly on a concrete floor.
- While connected, keep the canister valve open and the hose pressurized, and close and lock the spray gun.
- To change canisters, turn the valve off, spray out the adhesive left in the hose, then reconnect to a new canister — or flush the hose with cleaner until the liquid runs clear.
Flammable. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use, and always test the adhesive to confirm suitability for your application before production use.
