EPDM Commercial Roofing: A Guide to Adhesive Selection

A bounded guide to where UNO‑GRIP™ | QD2040 fits in EPDM membrane bonding—and where it does not.

For QDEK product selection, begin with the application rather than a blanket adhesive category. UNO‑GRIP™ | QD2040 is the TPO/EPDM adhesive for bonding EPDM membranes, including fleece-backed systems. Apply it as directed by the current TDS and SDS.

Where QD2040 fits

Use QD2040 for the specified EPDM membrane-bonding application. Confirm the membrane, substrate, roof-system requirements, and project documents before installation.

Working time and spray control

QD2040 has a 2–4 minute dry time and a 1+ hour open time. The UniJet 11002B tip provides an adjustable 7–17 inch spray pattern.

Plan the canister count

A 22 L canister covers up to 10 roofing squares / 1,000 sq ft of bonded area.

One roofing square equals 100 sq ft.

Keep field bonding separate from seams and flashings

QD2040 is not presented here as a seam adhesive, flashing adhesive, or sealant.

Complete seams, flashings, penetrations, and terminations with the components and methods required by the membrane or roof-system manufacturer and the project documents.

Coverage varies by substrate and application. Confirm the current TDS/SDS, roof-system requirements, and project documents before use.
